In 1989, Arsenal won the English football league with a dramatic extra-time goal against rivals Liverpool. Sporting Witness talks to Arsenal defender, Nigel Winterburn.

In May 1989, Arsenal won the football league championship in arguably the most exciting finish to a season in English top-flight history. The Gunners needed to beat the legendary 1980s Liverpool side by two goals at Anfield, and managed to scrape a 2-0 victory thanks to a dramatic injury-time winner. It was Arsenal鈥檚 first championship since 1971. Alex Capstick talks to their former defender Nigel Winterburn.
