Dave Shanahan’s 84th minute try on the opening day of the season gave Ulster the narrowest of home victories against reigning champions Glasgow Warriors. Following two gruelling games in South Africa, Richie Murphy’s side return home to face Connacht.

The visitors were also involved in late drama on the opening weekend – losing to Munster as a result of a late Shane Daly converted try.

Games between the two sides were extremely close in the 2023-24 season, with each winning their home fixture. Two points separated the sides in Galway, while Ulster secured a 20-19 win before Christmas.
